Purchased one for the 6 gal WH in popup northstar, and one for 16 gal WH in AF grande. Installed both and have cleaned tank at end of last two seasons, NO rust, gunk, smell, or rods to replace. Run filters and softener. We travel between northwest, southeast and southwest. No issues with any water supply.
Easy install and took smell out of hot water
It was as easy as replacing the rod with the original rod. There is no way to tell if it is working (other than a green light on the power supply). Guess I will know in a few years.
My wife and I have a well system for our home. We have an electric water heater. We have a water softener and have added products to the water softener and nothing seemed to help with the smelly egg / sulphur smell. If one is smelling that and annoyed, you know what I am talking about. I have read the annode rod cannot be taken out, well, it can, but not safe to do so by the mfr. My wife and I tried this product and our water has been transformed. The smell….GONE. It does exactly what it says it will do when it comes to removing odor. I am not sure how long it is suppose to last, but I KNOW I have had mine in there for a while now. I should have looked it up, at least a year, min. Good buy, for me anyway. Some evaluate things differently and may have a different perception of a situation one is experiencing, but for my wife and I and that egg smell that got pretty bad, not even removing the annode rod did the trick, for the record. This solved it. I had to flush it first of course, there is some work to be done, but it will not disappoint.
I purched this because I have several fiend at our campgrounds that got one last year. It has eliminated the rotten egg smell.
